EXAMPLES OF BEING BILINGUAL AND BICULTURAL AND BOTH



 Example of being bilingual:

- Someone from Colombia who had the need to immigrate to another country where the mother language is different hence he learns the official language of that country and acquires language competence in both languages, so he or she is considering a bilingual person.

-A person who grew up in a house where both parents spoke different languages and learned to speak both fluently.

-A person who studied a foreign language in school and became proficient in it.

Example of being bicultural:

A person who grew up in a country with a different culture than their parents and learned to adapt to both cultures.

-A person who immigrated to a new country and learned to navigate cultural differences.

- someone from Venezuela had the need to emígrate to Colombia or Peru and he was able to adapt to Medellin’s behavior, values, and dialect attitudes, and also he share with this community his own culture keeping his culture and acquiring
a new one.   

BOTH:

- someone who learns a foreign language acquiring linguistic competence in both languages    and moves on to a different community and was able to put in practice their behavior, values, dialect besides he share his own culture in the new community

  1.
